Thank you, to all our filmmakers, patrons, and sponsors for making the 2nd Annual
Central Florida Film Festival (CENFLO) a successful one.

A special thanks goes to the Kissimmee Utilities Authority,  (KUA) who sponsored our
seminar and panel series.  The seminar series itself wouldn't have been successful
without the participation of David Fazekas of the Screen Actors Guild, local
entertainment attorney, Bill Whitacre, producer/director Rick Pamplin, and producer
Chase Chenowith.  Chase not only appeared on our financial panel, but hosted a
screenwriting seminar and did a question and answer session after the screening of
last year’s winning feature BEAUTIFUL DREAMER, which he wrote and produced.

Most of all, I would like to thank all the talented filmmakers.  It was a very
competitive competition.  The fact that first prize in our short competition went to an
additional vote as the initial two rounds of judging had both DARTSVILLE and A.W.O.
L. in a dead heat for first place.   Having five judges vote solely for the two finalists
separated these two films by a vote of 3-2.  Tony West is director of DARTSVILLE and
was thrilled when we notified him of the outcome and his prize of $500 and a copy of
the Final Draft script writing software.

In the feature competition, 'LAST STOP FOR PAUL'  a film that had garnished twenty
three previous festival awards, collected best feature and the $1,500 grand prize from
the dark comedy ‘ONE OF OUR OWN’ which was a world premier.   At our Academy
Awards-like ceremony Director Neil Mandt announced LAST STOP FOR PAUL would
be receiving a theatrical release in March of ’08.

This year we also provided a $250 award for Best Documentary.  Seventeen
documentaries competed for top honors but FINDING KRAFTLAND wound up with the
plaque and check.  Both Neil Mandt and KRAFTLAND producer Richard Kraft have
committed to return and screen their winning films next year (CENFLO 3) with a Q & A
immediately following.  In addition, a special FLORIDA FILM PROJECT AWARD was
presented to Jamin Griffiths for his excellent documentary FEMA City.  Jamin’s film
project beat out four other finalists for the top prize.

The dates for CENFLO III have been announced.  Thursday evening, August 28th
(Gala opening night screenings and party) and ending with our Gala Awards Show on
the night of Sunday, August 31st, 2008 (Labor Day weekend).  I am also pleased to
announce we are adding a “family film’ category for next years, event.  This will be in
addition to our short, documentary and feature film categories.

Special kudos go out to the festival technical director, Timothy Anderson and
his staff and to my Deputy Director and lovely wife Ginger.  Without their help the
festival would never have reached the heights we received this year. Most of all, I
would like to thank Brandon Arrington and the Osceola Center for the Arts for their
commitment in continuing to bring this showcase for filmmakers to Central Florida.
