SUBMISSIONS
Q:  Do you offer Waivers or Discounts?

A:  YES. We provide TWO options for your film to qualify for the CENFLO waiver or discount request.

1)  If you are a CENFLO festival ALUMNI and have attended our festival in person you qualify for a $5 Discount toward your entry fee.  To submit you must be the Director or Producer of the past official selection.  We will be verifying Alumni status via IMDB.com.  If we discover you do not qualify we will send an email requesting a submission fee via Film Freeway.

2)  You qualify for a Discount if your film will be a WORLD PREMIERE at the time of our festival on Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 1-3rd, 2017).  Your film can NOT have screened ANYWHERE prior to September 1, 2017 to qualify for the WORLD PREMIERE DISCOUNT OR WAIVER.  If we discover it has screened elsewhere by the time of our festival, CENFLO reserves the right to disqualify your film and rescind any goods provided to our Official Selection filmmakers.

** NOTE: Waivers do NOT guarantee official selection into CENFLO nor does it qualify you for a free "Filmmaker Pass"         to the festival. **

Q:  What is CENFLO's Selection Process?

A:  Each film is initially screened by five members of our twenty-five member selection committee.  Scores are determined by a 10 Category selection process each with a 1-10 scale (Poor to Top Quality).  Categories include; Script, Production Value, Direction, Performance, Camera Work, Editing, Sound, Music, Lighting, Continuity & Detail. The best score a film can receive is a 500 and the worst is 0 (neither which has ever been achieved).  Our standard practice has been a score of 400+ receives an invitation and a score of 360 and below receive a rejection letter.  Other scores falling between this range are 'on the bubble' and still in consideration to be invited to the festival.

Q:  How quickly will I hear if I've been invited to screen at CENFLO?

We make every effort to notify our filmmakers as quick as possible so that they can make arrangements to attend as well as let friends, fans and family know about their film screening at our festival.  If you are not accepted, you have the option to email us a request for a critique supplied by our Executive Director.  You MUST email a request in order to receive the critique.

Q: Do You Provide Film Critiques?

A: YES. If your film is not selected to screen at CENFLO you must request (by email) a critique.  One will be provided by our Executive Director and will include the feedback from our judges' comments.

Q:  How Are Winners and Finalists Decided?

A:  After a film receives it's qualifying score it moves into the second stage of judging.  Five additional judges score 1 to 10 in ten different categories.  This score is added to the film's original score.  The top 8-10 films in each category moves on to the finals.  Five more judges view and score the films in each category.  The highest and lowest score from each round is dropped and the top score in each category is our CENFLO Winner.  A winner and four finalists are announced at our Awards Show which is presented on Sunday night followed by a wrap party.

Q:  What Does CENFLO Use the Money Raised For?

A:  Entry fees are used by FilmFreeway.com for administration and advertising purposes.  The rest of the money (received through grants) goes back into the festival for screening fees, advertising & marketing, events, food and other expenses.  No one on the Board of Directors, Executive Team, Selection Committee or Festival Technical Staff receive salaries of any kind.  We are run primarily by volunteers.  The catering staff and theater staff are paid by their respective employers.  We pay rental and catering fees to these places of business.

Q: Do Filmmakers Receive Free Passes?

A: YES.  Each Selected Film will receive ONE FILMMAKER PASS (Movies Only Pass - Value $105) to be utilized the weekend of the 2017 festival.  Opportunities will be provided to filmmakers to upgrade this Pass to an ALL ACCESS PASS (Value - $200) by paying and additional fifty dollar ($50) fee.  Additional MOVIES ONLY PASSES and/or ALL ACCESS PASSES may be purchased for other members of the cast, crew, friends & family.  Included in the ALL ACCESS PASS is Entry to festival films all weekend long, panel discussions, special screenings, access to our VIP Lounge (located near the theater), two happy hours, top quality food at our Saturday Night VIP Cocktail Party and entry into the Sunday Award Show and after party.

Q: Why don't you provide the Filmmakers with an ALL ACCESS PASS?

A: In the past, we did.  One ALL ACCESS Pass was given to each filmmaker accepted into our festival as long as they made a reservation. Seats were set aside, meals are reserved and additional costs are incurred based on these reservations. However, we find that many filmmakers do not attend and take full advantage of the opportunities the All Access Pass provides. Our festival goes to great lengths to provide ample networking for our filmmakers. We want to attract serious filmmakers to attend our event and take advantage of ALL opportunities and events scheduled for the weekend.  This year, we are providing an affordable Upgrade to our All Access Pass so these serious filmmakers can take advantage of ALL networking opportunities.

Q: What is Included with a CENFLO All Access Pass?

A: Included is the following; admission to All Festival Screenings, Seminars, Panel Discussions and Special Events including the Awards Show. It also includes admission to our VIP Cocktail Party on Saturday night, a Sunday night award show after party, and two networking parties.  All parties come with free beer, wine, soda and h'ordeuvres.  In addition, you will have access to our NEW VIP Lounge located within vicinity of the theatre which will have Karaoke, music and a spot for additional exclusive networking.

Q: Can I request free tickets for my film screening for friends, family, cast and crew?

A: NO.  Discounted Day Passes and All Access Passes will be offered to filmmakers for these attendees. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR EMAILS FOR THESE ANNOUNCEMENTS. These discounts will ONLY be available PRIOR to the festival. Single tickets will NOT be available prior to the festival and are sold ONLY the day of the screening for $20 if seats are available.  A Movie Watcher Pass includes a One Day Pass to view all festival movies in all 3 festival theaters PLUS a Medium Popcorn and Medium Soft Drink for ONLY $35. Our festival believes in supporting the festival and not just a single film.  The Filmmaker Pass has the same benefits as a Movie Watcher pass but is offered free to our "Official Selections

Q: Do Buyers Attend the Central Florida Film Festival?

A: YES. Over the past three years several feature films and two documentaries received distribution offers.  We have commitments from buyers from Arizona, Los Angeles and New York that will be in attendance at our event.

Q:  Do you provide free hotel and/or airfare to those filmmakers accepted into CENFLO?

A:  NO.  All our funds raised go directly back into the festival.

Q:  Why does CENFLO not 'do this or that' like other festivals do?

A:  What works for other larger festivals doesn't necessarily work for us.  Our festival has limited funds and aims to be the best possible event for our filmmakers that we can provide.  We have been in existence for 12 years, the Executive Director has been in the filmmaking business for over 35 years.  We strive to be a filmmakers event, which means we care about helping our attending filmmakers to have a top quality screening, networking and festival experience.

Q:  Why Should I Submit my Film to the Central Florida Film Festival?

A:  We pattern our small festival after the American Film Market in Santa Monica.  We have twelve years of experience in the festival business.  We care about the filmmaker and want to attract those that want to make more connections in the business through networking.  If you get into CENFLO, plan to spend a weekend meeting distributors, other film professionals, eating great food, watching quality movies and creating new opportunities for your filmmaking future.
